Graduated from the Military Medical Academy in 1984, Faculty of Senior Medical Staff in Epidemiology, served in the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for 32.5 years. He participated in the military operations in Afghanistan in 1984-1986, and in the aftermath of the earthquake in Armenia.

The main area of educational and scientific activity is disaster medicine.
