Scientific schools

Currently, a number of scientific schools have developed at StSMU, focused on the development of problems of theoretical and practical medicine and have achieved significant scientific results.

The surgical scientific school founded by Professor P.M. Kovalevsky back in the 40s of the XX century, developed by Professor Y.S. Gilevich (Professor A.Z. Vafin, Professor E.H. Baychorov, Professor A.N. Aydemirov, Professor V.Ya. Gorbunkov) develops problems of surgical treatment of echinococcosis, ventral hernias, surgical pathology of extrahepatic biliary tract and polyclinic surgery.

The scientific school of therapists was founded by Professors M.B. Rafalovich and V.I. Mosin (Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor A.V. Yagoda, Professor M.E. Evsevieva, Professor N.I. Geyvandova, MD O.I. Boeva, MD N.N. Gladkikh, MD P.V. Koroy). The research team of this school deals with the problem of cellular mechanisms of diseases of the digestive system (liver, stomach, colon), connective tissue dysplasia and associated diseases, and also conducts research on a wide range of cardiological topics (early diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, predicting the outcomes of coronary heart disease, search for predictors of the development of adverse outcomes in rhythm disorders hearts). The head of the scientific school is Professor A.V. Yagoda.

The Scientific School of psychiatrists, neurologists and clinical psychologists, the founders of which were Professors F.I. Grudev and A.Ya. Dorsht (Professor I.V. Boev, Professor A.Ya. Krzhechkovsky, Professor O.A. Akhverdova, Professor V.A. Zelensky), is currently engaged in a comprehensive study of the problems of borderline abnormal personality, develops issues of psychopharmacological protection of senior staff and victims of terrorist acts, studies the features of rehabilitation of patients with neurological pathology. The head of the scientific school, Professor I.V. Boev.

The Scientific School of Pharmacologists and Clinical Pharmacologists, founded by the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor E.B. Arushanyan (Professor V.A. Baturin, MD. E.V. Beyer, MD. E.V. Shchetinin), focuses on the development of topical problems of chronobiology, chronopharmacology, as well as on the study of pharmacodynamics of the main groups of psychotropic drugs. The head of the scientific school is Professor A.B. Arushanyan.

Dermatovenerological Scientific School, founder Professor, MD Maryasis E. D. The scientific team of this school deals with the problem of treating sexually transmitted infections, studying the pharmacokinetics of penicillin-type drugs in patients with syphilis in blood serum, cerebrospinal fluid, amniotic fluid in the first and second half of pregnancy and creating an algorithm for treating patients with this infection. For the first time in Russia and abroad, the concentration of the infusion form of azithromycin in the intact uterus, uterine appendages and uterine appendages in inflammatory processes was studied. Based on this, a new patient treatment regimen has been developed, confirmed by a patent.

Scientific School of Dentistry. The founders of the scientific school are professors, MD, Garage N.N. and Vodolatsky M.P. The scientific staff of the school is engaged in the study of etiology, clinical signs, the development of diagnostic criteria and organ-preserving methods of therapeutic, surgical and orthopedic treatment of patients with underlying pathology of the chewing and speech apparatus based on theoretical, radiological, laboratory and clinical data research. The pediatric scientific school was founded by corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Konstantin Vladimirovich Orekhov (Professor N.A. Fedko, Professor M.V. Golubeva, Professor L.Y. Barycheva, Professor S.M. Bezrodnova, MD N.V. Zarytovskaya, Associate Professor, PhD E.V. Vodovozova, MD, Professor L.Y. Klimov). The scientific team of this school deals with the problem of screening diagnostics of prenosological disorders of individual health in children and adolescents, involving the conduct of a diagnostic search for possible disorders, connective tissue dysplasia and associated diseases, conducts research to determine the level of vitamin D provision in children of various ages, as well as studies of the adaptive capabilities of the cardiorespiratory system (level of physical health, adaptive potential, coefficient health according to Baevsky, maximum oxygen consumption) for the preparation of wellness programs and prevention of disruption of adaptation in educational institutions.
