The association of participants and winners of the UMNIK competition of the Foundation for the Promotion of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Field in order to support the development of youth innovative projects.

Throughout its existence, the UMNIK program has given young scientists a real opportunity to offer their own innovative solution in one of the areas relevant to the state, to engage in the production and release of a useful product to the market.

Young scientists of StSMU have been participating in the competition since the first days of its appearance in the Stavropol Territory. Over 200 people applied for the grant and more than 50 received funding from the Foundation for the implementation of their projects.

In 2022, the university's young scientists achieved a phenomenal result - all 4 applications admitted to face-to-face defense received grant support.

The winners of 2022 are:
1. Nikita Andreevich Grin, 5th year student of the Faculty of Medicine.
Project topic: "Development of innovative regenerative properties based on natural proteins isolated
from the web of bird-eating spiders"
2.  Albert Ashotovich Vartanyan, junior researcher at the Laboratory of Pharmacology.
The project "Development of an enzyme immunoassay system for the diagnosis of the mechanism of resistance to pharmacotherapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus"
3. Vladislav Vyacheslavovich Chudin, Assistant of the Department of Faculty Surgery.
Project "Development of a new method for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 with high-dose gaseous plasma streams of nitrogen monoxide"
4.  Oksana IgorevnaYachnaya, postgraduate student of the Department of Pediatric Surgery with a course of APE.
The topic of the project is "Development of a device for laparoscopic delivery of blood plasma with an increased platelet content through laparoscopic ports to the anastomosis".
