On April 24-25, the XVII National Congress on Cystic Fibrosis with international participation "New Horizons in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cystic Fibrosis: With Faith in the Future" was held, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Scientific and Clinical Department of Cystic Fibrosis of the N.P. Bochkov Medical and Genetic Research Center and the organization of medical care for cystic fibrosis in the Russian Federation.
At this large-scale event, Stavropol State Medical University was represented by employees of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics.
More than 130 leading healthcare experts made presentations at the Congress symposiums, new projects for targeted therapy of cystic fibrosis, innovative diagnostic methods, pharmacogenetics, kinetics of CFTR modulators, characteristics of the microbiological spectrum, complications of cystic fibrosis were discussed, master classes on kinesitherapy and reading genetic analysis were conducted.
After a preliminary review of the work, S.I. Buryan, a resident of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, was invited to participate in the competition of young scientists held within the framework of the Congress. The report "Characteristics of Indicators of the Nutritional Status of Children with Cystic Fibrosis after Surgical Correction of the Meconium Ileus" (scientific supervisors – head of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, Associate Professor E.V. Vodovozova, associate professors T.A. Belash, M.S. Pustabaeva) aroused great interest and active discussion among experts and participants, and according to the results of the competition, the scientific work was
awarded third place.
