Types of treatment

  • Eye drops. Preparations in the form of eye drops act topically and are used, as a rule, for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the anterior part of the eye and the tissues surrounding the eyes.
  • Eye ointments. Antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs can be placed in the conjunctival cavity (behind the eyelid), and applied to the surface of the eyelids.
  • Vitamins for the eyes. In this form, vitamin and mineral complexes for the eyes are mainly used for the prevention of diseases and antibiotics.
  • Physiotherapy and hardware treatment. Physiotherapy is widely used in the treatment of inflammatory eye diseases (UHF, laser irradiation, electrophoresis) - for chalazions, barley, keratitis, childhood amblyopia and strabismus.
  • Injections (Eye injections)

Injections, depending on the place where the medication is injected, can be:

    1. Parabulbar - the medicine enters the fatty tissue surrounding the eyeball.
    2. Subconjunctival - the drug is injected under the mucous membrane of the eye (conjunctiva).
    3. Retrobulbar - the substance is injected behind the eyeball, deep into the eye socket.
    4. Intravitreal - the drug is injected directly into the vitreous body of the eye.
  • Surgical treatment (eye surgery). Surgical intervention on the eyeball and appendage of the eye is performed when medication and other methods of conservative treatment are not effective.
