He graduated from Stavropol State Medical Institute in 1982, then an internship in neurology. For 20 years he headed the neurological department of the Children's Regional Hospital in Stavropol.

In 1990 he defended his PhD thesis on the problems of therapy of children with the consequences of traumatic brain injuries (Odessa), and in 2010 he defended his doctoral thesis on the organization of neurological services in the Stavropol Territory (Moscow).

He is the author of 152 scientific papers, two inventions.

Since 1997, he has been appointed Chief Pediatric Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory, and since 2017 – of the North Caucasus Federal District.

Agranovich O.V. is the chairman of the commission for the supervision of acute flaccid paralysis in the Stavropol Territory, which is successfully working in accordance with the WHO program. In 2002, he was awarded a certificate by the World Health Organization for his personal contribution to the global work on the liberation of the European territory from the wild polio virus.

Oleg Vilenovich was at the origin of the creation of the children's epileptological service of the Stavropol Territory, which has been improving for a number of years, good results have been obtained in the treatment of children with epilepsy, comparable to international standards.

He has repeatedly been trained in the most prestigious neurological clinics in Europe and America.

He was repeatedly awarded with diplomas of the city administration, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, the badge "Excellent Health Worker".

In 2015 , Prof. Agranovich O.V. was awarded the title of "Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation".
